Political Hustlings
Posted on: 12/12/2019The Charles Dickens School welcomed representatives from the Labour, Conservative and the Green Party. They gave students from all year groups a taste of politics in action, talking through their parties’ manifestos, talking about their background in politics, and even taking questions from the floor! This is part of a drive to ensure all students understand the importance of the democratic process and what the election means for our country.
Students fully embraced the speakers and held them to account on issues such as education spending, the environment and employment. Over the coming weeks students will be looking at politics in form time. Senior students have run as members of the main political parties in the run up to the election and a School Election takes place in conjunction with the General Election.
