Awards Evening November 2021
Posted on: 18/11/2021The achievements of students at The Charles Dickens School were celebrated on 18 November with their annual Presentation Evening. This year Mr Smith, Headteacher, hosted the evening at the school in a sports hall transformed into a dazzling reception venue!
Speaker, Dr Ahsan Ashfaq, assisted with the presentation of certificates, prizes and award trophies before giving an inspirational speech on perseverance and achievement. The school thanks him for his time and support.
The musical interlude for the evening was provided by some the school’s extremely talented singers and the Hospitality & Catering Department students served canapes made by their brilliant chefs.
The Mayor of Broadstairs, Councillor Paul Moore and Craig Mackinlay MP were in attendance along with special guests which included Governors, Directors and Members. The School thanks them for their support of this fantastic event which celebrates progress and achievement.
Thanks must go to staff and associates who organised and supported the event, to students who attended and to parents who continually support the School and the progress of their children.
Mr Smith said, “The Awards Evening was a fitting tribute to the hard work and dedication of our students and staff over the past twenty months. For our award winners especially, ours is a large school and to be recognised as the best performer in the year group in an academic subject is a tremendous accolade. To gain this recognition when students were in lockdown for three months and perhaps isolating for other periods is a wonderful achievement.”
