Understanding Your Own Mental Health Workshop
Posted on: 11/05/2022The School’s Emotional Wellbeing Team delivered an “Understanding Your Own Mental Health” workshop to a group of year 10s.
The workshop explored what mental health is and considered what mental health means to the students. Students engaged in a range of interactive activities throughout the workshop. One activity allowed the students to discuss celebrities’ mental health and give opinions based on photos that they were shown. This led to a whole group discussion on whether we can gauge others’ mental health based on appearances, and our own assumptions on what constitutes positive mental health and wellbeing.
Positive mental health and wellbeing was discussed and students were given some coping strategies. They were also encouraged to think of things that they can do to help with their own mental health and wellbeing, as well as considering their take home message from the workshop.
