Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

CDS students have now completed their DofE assessed Bronze expedition.

The cohort had to make their way (completely unaided and independently) from Chilham to Dunn Street Farm (near Ashford). They completed the walk in beautiful sunshine and all four groups returned to base before enjoying a well deserved dinner and games.

Once the camp was set up they were ready for a nice early night to recover in time for the second day of walking.

The second day included a return walk to Chilham, using a different route, and all four groups worked well, as a team, to complete the challenges.

These students have now completed all of the evidence they need for their bronze award and will receive their certificates, badges and extra prizes at the school presentation evening later in the year.

Well done to all students involved in this fabulous scheme which builds confidence, friendships, resilience and “soft skills”. This achievement will stand them all in good stead with both universities and employers alike in the future.
