'LetGirlsPlay' Event March 2024
Posted on: 15/03/2024#LetGirlsPlay is a crusade to drive change showing that football can, and should, be played by girls. You may have heard about it in the news. This year’s event coincided with International Women’s Day, and CDS took Year 10 pupils to the 'LetGirlsPlay' event hosted at Ramsgate FC.
Pupils were tasked with leading two activities for 18 primary schools from Thanet, and surrounding areas. A total of 180 primary school pupils took part over the afternoon event and the primary objective was to encourage more girls to engage in football and get as many playing at the same time as they could!
The young leaders from CDS were responsible for orchestrating two distinct and enjoyable football activities of their own choice. Their performance was outstanding, receiving excellent feedback from participating schools, with many citing our pupils’ activities as their favourites. One pupil supervised a separate section focusing on Panna, offering primary school children a chance to experience and receive coaching on this aspect of the sport.
All pupils represented the school admirably, displaying professionalism throughout the entire event. Well done!
