9 History pupils enjoyed an interactive workshop at the Victorian Operating Theatre Museum, in London, helping them deepen their understanding of the History of Medicine topic. They then enjoyed lunch beside the iconic Golden Hind.

Y9 Business Studies pupils enjoyed a visit to Morelli’s in Broadstairs, where owner Giuseppe Morelli (Joe) shared insights into running a successful family business and brought classroom learning to life. Thanks to Joe and the team for a fantastic experience!

Huge congratulations to 2 of our talented Jewellery Club members, who have created an articulated flamingo necklace and a Coraline-inspired badge! Using CAD software and our laser cutter, their designs showcase impressive creativity, skill and attention to detail.

We had a bumper night at KS4 Cooking Skills Club and, continuing with our popular TikTok recipe theme, students took on the challenge of making pan-fried hash browns completely from scratch. A hugely successful session with some seriously impressive results!

Our Y9 pupils have been developing their observational drawing skills by exploring mark making with ink to capture the intricate details and textures of shells. The results were fantastic, with excellent examples demonstrating creativity, precision and attention to detail.

Our Y11 after-school intervention programme launched this week, with an impressive 66% of students attending extra GCSE support sessions. Interventions run after school Tuesday to Friday and pupils should check the in school timetable for more information.

OUR TRUST

BCAT is a small, but highly ambitious Academy Trust consisting of 3 schools,  Barton Court Grammar School, The Charles Dickens School and the new free school, Barton Manor School.

Barton Court Grammar School (BCGS) is a state, selective, co-educational school with a strong reputation for its high academic standards and its caring and supportive ethos. The School is an accredited ‘Advanced Thinking School’ and is also the lead school of Barton Court Academy Trust (BCAT). The Charles Dickens School (CDS) joined BCAT on 1 March 2017 and Barton Manor School, a free school which is a 5 form entry 11-18 non-selective school with a joint Sixth Form with BCGS is co-sited to BCGS and this multi-million-pound site opens in September 2022.

The Post

A dedicated and enthusiastic ICT/Business Teacher is required for September 2022 or January 23 in this over-subscribed non-selective, co-educational school which benefits from the state-of-the-art new buildings and is situated in a beautiful part of the South East coast. The School enjoys a good reputation locally, with dedicated colleagues and enthusiastic students. Staff hold high expectations for all students and work tirelessly to continue to raise attainment and achievement. ICT and Business are hugely popular subjects in the School with a large uptake at KS4.

The successful candidate should be able to deliver excellence in the classroom, providing innovative and inspirational teaching and learning.  This is an excellent opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced candidate to work in a very popular department.  This post is suitable for an NQT or an experienced professional looking to further their expertise.
